I took a stroll down Burke street in the city I grew up in, I fondly remember holding my mothers hand while crossing the tram ways and walking the grungy graffiti’d streets/ train stations of Melbourne city.
Seeing a city I once knew so well in pieces after a mad man created chaos in the hearts and minds of others so recently was difficult. I just want to take the time to tell the story of another city with a bleeding heart.
We seldom forget how lucky we are to have our siblings, parents and friends safe in their beds at night away from the things that go bump in the night. Let this be a reminder that we as a people have suffered, and so have others – Don’t be so quick to judge and don’t be so afraid to help others (emotions are scary but what I have found is that happiness is often on the other side of fear)
I have a few photos from one of my last days in Melbourne this trip, a rainy Monday morning, speckled with pitter patters of grey dots falling from the skies, accompanied by buskers in the street and dingy little cafes that made me miss my lover’s warmth like a cold hand misses the touch of another’s (if you’re reading this, you know who you are)
So please, sit back or stand close and enjoy some stills of a washed out alley way and a few musicians just trying to get by while expressing themselves…
oh and while I am here, Don’t forget to be kind to yourself on your journey here, looking back is hard but only when you have been looking back at the same place too long – keep moving forward, Don’t be too afraid to love again and most of all be kind to each other.
Love and strength,
A S C E N D

I snuck off in the early hours of the morning to catch a plane to Melbourne…. shhh don’t tell my boss…
I arrived back in my hometown this morning at about 9am to escape the heat of Brisbane, a brisk walk along the river, camera in hand (only got stopped by one tourist to take their photos… fabulous)
I hope everyone is doing well in the new year and I hope you enjoy these photos, remember to stay focused on your goals and don’t stray from the path no matter how tempting it may seem, it is by far a lengthy trap awaiting to stop you from reaching victory.

If anyone can find wisdom, inspiration, passion or something in themselves by reading this, know that I am with you, know that you my brother or sister are not alone in the world. Everyone has dreams (if they don’t, then sorry kid… time to start dreaming) so don’t you ever, let people tell that your dreams are not valid. Look for more ways to do better today – not just within yourself and your own life, but for other people that you encounter on your journey here.
May you find peace knowing you’re not the only dreamer, not the only adventurous soul, young in heart and mind.
Stay humble, stay inspired.
